The Magic Faraway tree - when did they change the names?

Am trying to buy a copy of the book with the original names but not sure which year they changed them - is there anywhere I can type the ISBN number and get a synopsis?

Frannie was Fanny in the original!

Makes me wonder if they've changed Titty's name in Swallows and Amazons - will go and check

Ahh Cobwebs we just left back the enchanted wood with the original names in it, dd thought it was strange, something tells me our copy was from early 80's because I remeber looking at publishing dates as I was curious too

It used to be Joe, Bessie and Fanny, I beleive they have changed other things, there's not as much spanking going on, Dame SpankaLot is Dame ScoldaLot. Thankfully I have my Dads old versions.

i am reading the old version of enchanted wood (mine from 1981!) to dd2 and it is Jo (boy), Bessie and Fanny.

Found some 1978 ones - my sister has commandeered all our old ones !
