bulk buy books for party presents

Can anyone recommend somewhere to buy books cheaply in packs of 10 (or whatever) as an alternative to the dreaded party bag please? Am sure I've seen threads about this before...
Thanks.

Tescos are usually quite good so would imagine Asda may be the same.

The Book People or their sister company Bananas do packs of books at very reasonable prices - between £5 and £10 for 10 type of price.

Have a link!

I have bought bulk books for party bags from The Book People and Red House Books.

They're not in packs, and you need to spend a few minutes finding the right things, but Book Warehouse are fantastic at 99p books/activity packs/annuals. I've been using these instead of party bags for the last couple of years....got great Paddington bear activity/sticker books for my ds's 4th birthday last summer and some fab hard-page, pull-out animal ones for DD's 2nd in Jan. Much much nicer than plastic tat in party bags...we gave each kids a bag of choc buttons/box of raisins and a book to take home. Happy children, happy parents

Ok, maybe I am being exceptionally stupid (pregnant, so always possible), but I've looked on The Book People website and can't see multi packs - can one buy pack of the same title - so no one squabbles? Also wanted something quite specific and they don't seem to do that. Is the trick not to be fussy?

Look under Children's Fiction and you should get some sub categories. They call them collections.

Sorry, should have posted a link to the collections bit but so surprised I remember the email address I just posted the home page!

Here is the Bananas Books Link too

Here you are - have the proper link!

@FloraF, click the 'only show book sets' checkbox at the top of the list of available books, that will show you the 'packs' available in each section.

We just bought the Usborne Spotters Guides for my son's birthday party, worked out at 70p per child... with a pencil, lolly and cake = bargain!

Book People and Red House - amazing bargains and always very popular!

I make personalised bookmarks to go with them

i did this last week for ds2's birthday. all the children were under 5 so i bought 2 six packs of my first books in asda. i think they were £2 each.

I did books when DD was 3 but ya know....any child over 3 just loves a bag of plastic tat!" Books may please parents but kids really do love the excitement of rummaging through the bag and playing with the plastic
tat....sorry
