Hi,

im having a nightmare!

its my friends little girls 7th birthday and she is really into reading but i have no idea on what is the 'in' thing for 7yr olds to read.

i found this selection of books by Maeve Friel called witch in training click here to view have anyones children read these, are they any good?

they kind of remind me of the worst witch books that i read when i was a kid.

any help would be great!

Thanks

My DD and some of her friends like them. You could always give her a book token and let her choose.

I would tend to either ask her mum, or go for a book token as IMO tastes vary massively at that age - and what is just the thing one month is so wrong the next!

Go for a classic like Enid Blyton's The Magic Faraway Tree, my DD loves all the "old" ones.

My daughter is 9 now, but she loves Linda Chapmans books, and Rainbow Fairies.

The new H2o books are very popular - it's based on the t.v. series about 3 mermaid. See link to Amazon:
