Book with LOADS of flaps to lift?

I'm going on a looooong train journey with DS soon (15mths) and at the moment the thing that keeps him still for longest is lifting up the flaps on books!

We have a good Thomas the Tank Engine one which has lots of small flaps on each page and isn't too bulky, so I'm looking for a similar one which I can buy beforehand.

Any recommendations?

Lark in the Ark has lots of flaps, but am not sure if it would be sturdy enough for a 15 month old.

My son loved hide and seek bunnies at that age.

But for more flaps you ever thought possible, try the wonderful world book It is targeted for older children (my 4 year old LOVES it) but it it FLAP heaven! It comes with its own deflatable paper globe! It has mountains, movable people skiing, and boats you can move down canals!

Have a look at www.little-bookworms.co.uk - especially the 'See Inside' series.

The House that Jill Built

Jill and her cat build a little house for themselves, but along come all their fairytale friends wanting extensions added. Each page adds a new room to the house with lots of window and door flaps to see what's going on inside. DD2 loves looking for the mice.

15 months is a very long train journey indeed lol -

A Lark in the Ark & Dear Zoo were DS faves

I came across a Charlie & Lola book recently that had about 100 flaps to lift. Can't remember the name of it (library book, didn't borrow because my daughter was at 'tearing flaps' stage at the time) but it is about Lola dogsitting and they lose the dog and have to find it.

Sorry to be so vague.

...You've probably been on your journey and come back by now, though!

tortoiseonthehalfshell - Think you mean "Sizzles is completely not here" , a MAJOR favourite in our house ! Really sturdy and loads of flaps.

We have the Dragons version of the hide and seek bunnies book. DS loved it and it once kept about 4 kids quiet during the speaches at my sisters wedding. He does now know where all the dragons are hiding but it still doesn't seem to have lost it's appeal.

Have a look for Elephant Wellyphant. Lots to lift and spin and open in there...
