Could someone please recommend a book where main character is an only child

I will be buying a present for my ds friends 9th birthday, he is an only child and I know he loves reading....

would be grateful for any suggestions..

Are you actually looking for a book about a child being an only child? Or just coincidentally, like old Harry?

Lots of Roald Dahl books are about only children.

He probably has all the HP/RD books, I was thinking more about lesser known books....?
