Wasn't sure where to post this but needed to exclaim somewhere! I know I've come to Harry Potter a bit late, having shunned them for ages, but found myself in October with a few months spare before my OU Eng Lit course starts and the only thing I had to hand was the HP series, so thought, what the heck!

Haven't been able to put them down, and am amazed at how well constructed these stories, places and characters are. I stand corrected.

And Dumbledore is dead! Unbelievable! I really thought he'd be there til the bitter end, that there was a mistake, that Snape's curse may have somehow not worked. I actually cried!

Cannot believe how much this has affected me, I am slightly embarrassed, but as I said, really needed to get all this out!

Voila, gushing over...

Now go away and read The Deathly Hallows - immediately! Then come back and talk to us because there are lots of Potter nutters fans on here.

We had a sleepover at the library to get ours - in full fancy dress! Twas fab.

I think it was a masterly stroke and quite right of JKR to kill Dumbledore - to not do so would have been a cop out. Killing the most loved and best (in the moral sense) character in the series is a good lesson to children that life doesn't do what we think it should.

Warning - Deathly Hallows is a blood bath.

Oh man!

That was without a doubt the most exciting thing I have ever read. Absolutley gripping, with awesome twists, turns, cleverness, intrigue, loss and joy right until the very end when the next generation leaves for Hogwarts. I am aghast.

So cleverly constructed, all ends tied, with believable and heart-breaking losses, coupled with equally believable and heart-warming explanations.

There is only one thing, that I admit I may have lost in my excitement. How did Neville get Gryffindor's sword? The last I remember of it was the goblin (Griphook?) making off with it at Gringotts??
