Another "help- what's this book"?

It was a picture book about a cat and had the refrain:

think before you act, wash before you think

I think it may have been a burglar's cat.

Any leads?

I've never read this book, but know the title - might it be 'Jeffy The Burglar's Cat' by Ursula Moray Williams? Her lovely story 'Gobbolino the Witch's Cat' is one of my favourite children's books.

It's definitely 'Jeffy, the Burglar's Cat'. We have an old Puffin paperback and I've just checked it.

I wouldn't have said it was a picture book though. It has some line drawings and it's recommended for eight-year-olds.

Gobblolino the Witch's cat was my favourite childrens book too. I still have my old copy from 35 20 years ago.

I could have SWORN it was a picture book.... sigh.... pregnancies have ruined my memory.
