a book in verse for older children?

My ds (very reluctant reader) read Voyage of Arctic Tern - and so did I - and really enjoyed it (a tale loosely based on a Flying Dutchman).
Does anyone know of any similar, suitable for ages 10-100? The only one I can think of is Odyssey, but haven't yet checked how readable it would be.
Any other suggestions?

He might like Rosemary Sutcliff's version of the Iliad and the Odyssey although they are not in verse. They retain a lot of the poetic language and the illustrations are wonderful (by Alan Lee).

That's so cool, BB, thank you! We met Malorie Blackman once and have a couple of her signed books, but not this one! Will check it out!
