I am re-reading these and still enjoying them, BUT there has been an Oprah style light bulb moment on book one.

I noticed that when Betty goes off to Russia wiht callmeMol, the next thing we know is that Patricia F Maplin Stacey brings out a Ruby Redfort book "Rush to Russia Ruby".

Therefor I kinda got to thinking there is an advanced plot twist that callmemol is in fact Patricia FMS.

I wanted to email L Child to ask her but she seems to be incommunicado, so tell me have you lot KNOWN this all the time?

Is it a bit of a " oh so Aslan is JESUS" moment?

I know quite a few "Beans" - it's very common in Yorkshire and Derbyshire as a surname. And I think Courtney Love/Kurt Cobain's daughter is called Francis Bean iirc.

So do you think I can pass Nancy Drew books off to DD age 6 as really being Ruby Redfort then?
I never read the Nancy Drew's but they sound much more exciting than the normal girly books with fairies etc.
Since finishing all the Clarice Bean's DD has only found the Faraway Tree books (Blyton) even remotely interesting. It would be great to find something like this to keep her going until the next Clarice Bean comes out!
