Can anyone help me find these books?

Ok, this is such a long shot it might not be worth it but here goes.

When me and my brother and sisters were small we had a series of books that all had the same opening sentence that went along the lines off

Up a steep winding lane was the farmhouse where Mr and Mrs Moses lived...

I have googled this but cannot find any thing relevant.

I really wanted to buy these books for DS so can anyone help??

I've spent a wee while googling different things but can't find anything - had a search for first lines and so on.

Do you remember anything else, such as were they picture books or longer stories? Were they contemporary to the 1980s, or older books?

all we could remember was that first line. I think they had animals in them, but cannot remember anything else.
