Just wrapping books up for DD and read a few pages...what am I going to be like when I read it with her?!

(if anyone interested it is a wonderful story about a little girl who finds a home and a doll, by Rumer Godden, age probably 5+ to read aloud, maybe 6+ to read alone as it is is simpler than some of her others)

It is a perfect little girls' Christmas story, isn't it? RG's The Dolls House is also lovely but read it first- the end is quite shocking.

yes barbarian- the celluloid doll...

we are going to have something of a RG year here, I also have the ones about the japanese dolls - Miss Happiness/ Little Plum I think they are called, and The Diddakoi is waiting.
