Reading a recent thread on Aimsmum's dd's white bear, reminded me of a book I had as a child in the early 1970s. It was about a bear who got old and tatty and was thrown away. I don't remember the ending but it went something like
Teddy bear was old and worn.
His something something; his fur was torn.
His master no longer loved him, so
out in the rain he had to go.
Does anyone recognise this? Do you know what the book was called? My mother keeps mentioning it to me and wishing she hadn't thrown it away.
