Bookpeople or Red House have Peter Pan condensed and illustrated by Shirley Hughes. It is ace. I think they may have done an abridged version of the sequel, Peter Pan in Scarlet too.
Also Red House have A Christmas Carol at the moment, which I have just ordered, as it looks really good.
DD2 has an abridged version of Oliver Twist but I can't remember where I got it.

Hello
I am an Usborne books at home rep. Usborne do quite a few abridged and illustrated classics- try the Classics Retold series for readers aged 8+ which includes Treasure Usland and Tom Sawyer. Have a look at www.usbornebooksathome.co.uk for the catalogue and e mail me if you want to order them via me (free p&p if you order 4 or more books). I have just read the Usborne abridged version of Treasure Island and really enjoyed it!
For slightly younger readers there are also a good selection of these classics in the Young Reading series- just glancing at the catalogue I can see Treasure Island, Robinson Crusoe, Around the World in 80 days, Great Expectations and Dracula! All the books I've mentioned are £4.99
