Book for 2 yo with subliminal message about emotions (happy, sad etc) or - even better - why hitting babies is wrong

In desperation I am hoping that a reading a book about emotions might help me explain to ds1 why it is wrong to hit babies, push them over, steal toys from them etc. I try to explain but he thinks it is a hugely funny game (chanting 'don't hit baby X, it makes him sad/makes him cry etc as he whacks the baby yet again).

Needn't be a book about babies as such. Something like 'Kipper is sad when his kite blows away' would do.

I don't think you can beat this vintage title personally, although it is aimed at infant school aged children, so your ds might be a little young at the moment

Wibbly Pig - there is a whole series of these and one is called Wibbly Pig is happy

How abou 'Be Gentle' by Virginia Miller here .

I don't think it deals with either children or hitting but it is about Bartholomew (?) having to learn to be gentle with the new kitten, at first he isn't and the kitten is scared of him etc. This might not be the sort of thing you are after at all but it is basically a lovely book about treating others nicely.

How about this one here A good book for little ones. It was a good way of getting my DD to tell me how she felt and helped her understand what feelings are at about age 2/3.
