The gruffalo has always been our favourite... but I think this may take over. We all loved it.

i particularly like the talk of "his stick lady love"

my 3yr old had tears in her eyes when they were all missing him.

My DS loved the bit with Santa up the chimney, and yes we all felt sad seeing stick man stuck in the snow missing the stick kids.

my 2 are 6 & 8 and still love all the julia donaldson books.

We were a bit disappointed with the last one - Charlie Cook, but this is well worth a look.

This is currently ds3's favourite book too! He is just 4.

and there's a gruffalo fish in tiddler and a kid drawing the gruff in the snail and whale (my personal fave).

DD loved it so much she insisted the next time we read it.. and I was struggling to remember what on earth I had come up with. It is well-established now.

We will definitely have to get this one.

The only one we don't like is Squash and a Squeeze.

My 2 year old just loves it!! Most books I get soooo bored with night after night......but not this one She says 'again again'!!!!!! We also love Monkey Puzzle.

BTW - I am still reading this book practically every night to my kids, and everyday to the children I childmind. Still not bored of it myself yet

I noticed this and wanted to buy it, but dss are 9 and 11, so I haven't really got an excuse [girn]

Love it too, we got it from the library and had to renew it a few times as DD insisted on it every night at bed time. The tension at "here's a good stick for the fire!".

Think I'll get it for her for Christmas.

We were out for a walk recently and came across a stick which looked a bit like stick man - had great fun finding his family tree and placing him up in the branches to return him home.
