Just finished reading 4yo dd's first book and looking for recommendations for the next one

I've just read dd The Magic Faraway Tree chapter by chapter at bedtime and she absolutely loved it (although pc version just Isn't The Same). Any suggestions for the next one? Was thinking of a Roald Dahl book but would appreciate some suggestions!
She is not scared of much and has a good understanding of real/pretend stories

my 5 year old is enjoying Paddington at the moment, also loved Brer Rabbit stories and Princess Poppy

Try Milly-Molly-Mandy - my daughter loved it when she was 4.

My Mom has bought them for DS1 because I loved the stores, but he is a bit more Pirates/Dragons/Monsters!

All mine have loved My Naughty Little Sister.
Also Junie B Jones which is a modern American version.
Paddington is good too.

Dick King Smith's Sophie stories. Brilliant - and I enjoyed them too. So many of the books l=they like at this age are SOOOOOOO dull!

Do be careful of Roald Dahl - I would wait until she's older if I were you. She'll enjoy them more at 6 or 7 than now and some are VERY dark.

DD loved George's Marvellous Medicine at this age, but when we tried some of the others she was not interested so have left them until later. She too enjoyed the Sophie books, Wishing Chair, Amelia Jane, Horrid Henry and is now enjoying the House at Pooh Corner and The Worst Witch.

Dd (5) is enjoying Mrs Pepperpot atm. Also Milly-Molly-Mandy and Naughtiest Little Sister

Thanks for all of these, I have noted the popular ones! I remember reading so many amazing books when I was young(er) but the ages at which I read them is all of a blur so maybe Roald Dahl is a bit too old.
I am going to have a wander round Waterstone with her at the weekend and see what grabs my attention.

Did you see Michael Recycle, I stood in the book shop reading this one aloud ( sometimes I need to do this at work) .This one works for sure and is fun.

what about finn family moomintroll and the others in the series? ds(4) is enjoying them at the mo, also the lion the witch and the wardrobe, paddington, winnie the pooh, the wind in the willows...It's so much fun when they start getting into real books isn't it? makes a change from endless thomas the tank engine stories anyway.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I took dd into Waterstones on Saturday to find a new book and she chose the Folk of the Faraway Tree so yet more Enid Blyton for us for a while! I'm going to save this thread for the next choice
