I have nine nieces and nephews and several children I childmind and I thought this year I would like to buy them a lovely book each.

Has anyone seen anything nice around? Something a bit special?

I still remember receiving a peter pan and wndy special edition when I was abut 7 that I still have now on my bookshelf.

I have all ages and stages to buy for from babies to teenagers, boys and girls, so all suggestions welcome. Thanks in advance.

This isn't my usual posting name btw but don't want to confuse myself changing back and forth for different threads!

Wow lots of responses already thanks so much!

They all look great, need to wake up baby for her lunch and do nursery run but will check back soon as I can and have a good look at all the links.

What do you think would be good for older boys? I have no clue there!

Not sure what price you are after, but my daughter was given this amazing pop up book which is definitely treasured. The 'pop ups' are amazingly intricate and the story is a pretty long and detailed telling of cinderella.

For babies, this is lovely. My DD (19mo) has it and she loves it - I do too because it has lovely pictures.

A A Milne's 'When we Where Very Young' is a classic and definately a book that will be treasured for a ong time. In fact, DS inherited my younger brother's copy, but on the condition that younger brother gets it back when he has kids of his own! Every child should own a copy of it.

I have two little boys and they LOVE the Oliver Jeffers books.
I have a website where four mums review products we love, and we often write about our favorite books. Check out Babyccino!!

I have a lovely hard back version of The Secret garden. I got it when still at primary school and still have it nnow. Was just showing DD it this morning as she likes the colour plates inside.

I just started reading the Helen Oxenbury illustrated version of Alice adventures in wonderland to my dd. It is a lovely book, sure to be treasured for many years.

I have just given her my own version of the magic faraway tree to read when they've finished the enchated wood in class.
