MadamePlatypus · 28/04/2008 17:15

"monkey, monkey, what do you see? I see children looking at me"

UnderRated · 28/04/2008 17:15

Why is it different in England then?

there are different texts? Is there a picture of the teacher in the other version? I thought all the children were at the zoo.

No no noooo, I thought it was carl too

In the US version, there is a picture of a teacher.

In the UK one there is a monkey. I like it with a teacher. Even if it is stereotyped (young woman, hair pulled back, glasses)

Yes, it does. It's shocking.

But there is usually a reason for americanizing a book - why change a teacher to a monkey?

UnderRated · 28/04/2008 17:39

That's what I was wondering. It makes no sense.
