I have been collecting the Welcome to the Museum books for my son, each Christmas, since he was born. I think they’re some of the most beautifully illustrated books I’ve ever seen and make a lovely collection that I hope he’ll treasure as he grows up. (He’s 4)
I now have a baby daughter and would love to start a collection for her too. I don’t want to make two identical collections but I’m struggling to find anything different, that’s along the same lines.

Does anyone have any ideas of any beautiful, hard back books that could be collected in the same way?

Mina Lima illustrated books... classic fiction books beautifully illustrated. Weve bought a few for Christening/new baby gifts.

I’ve bought my daughter the Story Orchestra books and she loves them. Beautiful illustrations, classic stories from ballet or opera (or stories based on classical pieces like Holst’s Planet Suite) and the clips are good quality.

Orlando the marmalade cat. Lovely stories of the cat and his family, beautifully illustrated.

'the wonder of Nature' by Jenny Broom for your daughter, it is exquisitely illustrated.

I love the Miffy books, but the Moomins might also be good especially as they go from baby to ya/adult almost
