I love visiting prehistorical sites when on holiday, I'm fascinated with the anthropology of the stone age, probably because of reading Earths Children series as a teenager 😆. My children do enjoy visiting caves and geological sites, but we've got a big trip to France planned for the Lascaux caves and others, and I just wondered if I could spark their interest more before we go with some really good books on the topic. Picture or chapter. Age 6-11.

You definitely need to get them The Geat Cave by Terry Deary. It’s actually set in Lascaux!
In terms of picture books, there’s Stone Age Boy and The First Drawing which are both good.
Dd has recently read The Wild Way Home which she enjoyed.

Just posted to another thread but realized applicable here as well.

You can try using one of these personalized story apps that let you put your kids into basically any story you want. You just provide a simple story overview and the app takes it from there.

I've personally found my kids get much more interested in a new subject if I can put them into the story, helps them relate better I think.

Anyway, check it out if you want!
