Books for age 6-7 year olds

Can anyone recommend a good book for 6-7 year olds. One with pictures so I can talk about the book with them

Don't let the pigeon drive the bus, and the others in that series.
The Journey trilogy by Aaron Becker.
The Andrea Beaty books - my favourite is Aaron Slater Illustrator.
Leo and the Octopus.
The Colour of Home.

We have Paddington read by Stephen Fry and it's wonderful!

Rabbit and Bear books are brilliant
Captain Pug series also good

And if I remember correctly @cottonbuds01, Captain Underpants and Horrid Henry both have illustrations.

Have you enrolled him in the local library? Both of mine loved choosing their own books at this age and they usually have a good selection of Early Reader type books as well

Billy and the mini monsters series
the faraway tree adventures, which has colourful pictures and good for early readers

Our Paddington box set and the Katie series have been heavily-thumbed

For something completely interactive you could look at the Puzzle Island etc books from Usborne.
