Cressida Cowell

Please can everyone with boys aged 6-8ish rush out and get a Cressida Cowell book "How to Train your Dragon" is the first one. They are so funny and anarchic and warm hearted. Everything a book should be - unlike the mean spirited nastiness that is Horrid Henry!

oh they are utterly fantastic (my eldest is 10 and adoring them as is 7-yr-old) We now have complete set and are saving up for David Tennant reading them on audio books.

[whistles nonchalantly and pays media fee]

if you lot are going to use this thread to make loadsa money, perhaps I should retract and say, ''nah, crap books, don't bother!!''

Yes my boys love these books too. They seem to appeal over a wide range of ages.

The writing-style is not easy (more difficult than Horrid Henry), but because of the presentation, pictures, and of course the humour, children are able to tackle it relatively young - say age 7 or even 6 for fluent readers.

I also know 12 yr-olds who still enjoy reading them!

We also have a full set - in a 'well-read' condition.
But they are definitely not for sale - the boys would lynch me
