DD has been given a dressing up/fancy dress which is Empire line/Regency in style. She's desperate to wear it for World Book Day but I can't think of a book to go with it. She's a reasonably good reader for her age (10) but couldn't manage Jane Austen or Georgette Heyer and she wants a book she can actually read. Any ideas?

Awesomely Austen is a series of retold Austen stories for children. Alternatively, there is a Little People, Big Dreams book about Jane
Austen.

The Chimneys of Green Knowe by Lucy M Boston.

I’d be inclined to watch a really good Pride and Prejudice with her and then perhaps her to read a children’s version?
I can’t think of anything personally but I was looking online and there’s a series of Tom Marlowe adventures by Chris Priestley which might fit??

Thank you for all the suggestions. I've ordered some Awesomely Austen from the library and I have my old copy of Chimneys of Green Knowe somewhere, I'll dig it out. I'd forgotten all about that.

The My Story series, by a variety of authors! I can't remember which one is Regency based, but I'm sure there is one and an amazon search will help! Vince Cross wrote some of the series.
