Do you like books and humor? Do you have children in years 1 and 2 schooled in England and who are not bilingual? Do you want to help research advance while having fun and discovering new funny books with your children? Then this project from the University of York is for you! (Feel free to share)
I am a PhD candidate at the Department of Education of the University of York and my study is about children's understanding and appreciation of humorous picturebooks.
Parents are invited to read electronic picturebooks to their children, followed by a series of questions to ask them. The intervention will begin with an initial meeting via Zoom only with the parent, according to
your availability. Afterward, 3 albums will be sent to you, one per week. Each album must be read twice in the week it is sent.
This project is an opportunity for family exchanges and discoveries of picturebooks selected for their richness and humor.
