tends to enjoy books that are interactive in some way - lift the flap or sounds or similar. Any recommendations?

All the Spot the Dog ones are fun.
All Ross Campbell especially Oh Dear!
and It's Mine
Hide and Seek; Playful Pets
Hide and Seek; In the Jungle
Often find nice board books with one picture per page in bargain book stores..really good for his language development.

My daughter was obsessed with an Allan Ahlberg book called 'Crash Bang Wallop' at that age. It had a lot of animal sounds that could be repeated - as in
"The Dog Went Woof" and she would basically say the "Woof" part.
We loved the Allan and Janet Ahlberg 'Peppo' and 'Each Peach Pear Plum' too. Not interactive books but the stories are rhyming so it has a sing-songy flow.

I remember a lot of ‘that’s not my’ at that age. They’re repetitive and each one names the texture ie ‘that’s not my dog, his ears are too soft’ etc.

Almost all nurseries I’ve worked in do Dear Zoo, usually it’s a favourite!
