Colourful Graphic Novels for the very young e.g Dog Man

My dyslexic 8 year old effectively has a fear of books. Reading is torture. To my delight he has taken to a series of books called the InvestiGators (crime fighting alligators). The first time he's actually read anything by himself in bed. The books are similar in style to Dog Man - colourful comic strip style, not much writing/bubble speech, funny. Can anyone recommend something similar? Any chunks of text would put him off completely, so the Treehouse Story books etc won't work. They have to be colourful with just short basic speech bubbles or a line on a page type thing. I'll try him on Dog Man next. I'm aware of Bunny vs Monkey (colourful but might be too much small writing on a page, will need to check), Cat Kid and other Phoenix Comics characters. Thanks

Narwhal and Jelly are great. I’ve heard good things about Roy of the Rovers too, but not got hold of a copy yet so not sure how text heavy they are.
Barrington Stoke books would be a good way of easing him towards longer chapter books. Try the Mini Gems ones first.
