Jurassic park books for 12 year old?

My son is 12 and loves the Jurassic park first movie. He is a good reader and tends to prefer reading to tv normally. He has read all Harry potters but not bothered with the films for instance. I started wondering if he may like the Michael Crichton Jurassic park novels. But I believe they are aimed more at adults. Does anyone know if suitable for children?

I read them at around that age, they’re quite “sciencey”, but I really enjoyed them.

Ok thanks. I am not a very good reader myself and certainly wasn’t at age 12 so it’s good to get other experiences. I guess I kind of need to know if there isn’t any sexual references for instance that make them unsuitable for children. Which I feel you never know with adult books

I was given Jurassic Park while in hospital with appendicitis at the age of 12! I remember enjoying it a great deal - it's a little more graphic than the films (well, what I remember is the guy being eaten by a dino while on the toilet and it being quite gory in the book!) but I can't remember anything particularly unsuitable...
