My daughter is a very keen reader who reads very well. Recommendations please for lovely/ brilliant books that I can get her. She loves animals but loves reading anything really! Looking for series and individual books. Thanks

My daughter really loves the compilations of folk tales by Lari Don (Girls, Goddeses and Giants / Fierce, Fearless and Free etc) www.laridon.co.uk/

Hetty Feather by Jacqueline Wilson is brilliant (I loved it myself).

For series, how about a Series of Unfortunate Events?

Has she read any of the Lucy Daniel's Animal Ark series?
Main character is the daughter of a vet and each books finds a different animal that needs rescuing. There are LOADS!
If she's reading books above her age they might be a bit easy - I think they were popular here from 7-10ish?
I think the next big hit after them were Karen McCrombie books, which move to more pre-teen content

Edge Chronicles
First Aid for Fairies and other Fabled Beasts
Witchworld (Emma Fischel)

What about the David walliams books? I've bought my daughter age 9 a couple for Xmas.

Fireborn
Polly Pecorino
Christmas pig
The very merry murder club
The secret of platform 13
The night bus hero

All of the Murder Most Unladylike series. My (now 10 year old) daughter has been obsessed with them for a long time now.

The White Giraffe series
Letters From The Lighthouse
The Explorer
The Girl Who Speaks Bear
