Help me remember the title of this book please!

Listening to Saturday Live just now and hearing the woman describe her experiences in a TB sanatorium and I caught a faint memory of a book I read as a child, but can't remember the title or what else happened. Can the Mumsnet bibliophiles help?

It was about a girl who was sent to a sanatorium in the 1950s for anaemia and described as having 'white blood'. I think the hospital was near the sea on a cliff?

Vague description, I know, but does anyone have any ideas?

I think it’s Knock and Wait by Gwen Grant. The first chapter is called ‘Has Anybody Else Got White Blood?’. She’s sent away to an Open Air school in Kent.
