Can anyone recommend a nativity book for under 5s?

I've also posted this request under "products". I'm searching for a book to explain the birth of Jesus and the concept of Christmas to my nearly 3 year old. Any recommendations?

I would recommend this one. It sounds more babyish than it is - about the right level for a 3 year old I think.

We just read a lovely one by Debi Gliori called \link{http://www.amazon.co.uk/Give-Him-Heart-Debi-Gliori/dp/074753554X/ref=pd_bbs_sr_2?ie=UTF8&s=boo ks&qid=1196886861&sr=8-2\Give Him My Heart) which links the story Nativity with the story of a young girl preparing for Christmas with her grandfather. We aren't Christian and I didn't explain the significance of the baby being born in the stable to ds, but he picked up the beauty and wonder of the story straight away. The words used are from the poem "In the Bleak Midwinter". Lovely.

First Christmas book

This one's in M&S, looks like they've changed the cover since the version wev'e got, but if it's the same inside it's pretty good. Very simple.

we have 3 of the ones that are linked and i keep having to stop myself buying the M&S one! I love the fact that it plays Away in a Manger when you press the star!

Hi WW! You're really not helping! It's so lovely but we really really do not need anymore Christmas books!

(one hint is to put all the christmas stories away with the decs and get them out on Dec 1st or good and early. ds has loved reading our pile!)

We have a lovely one by Dick Bruna (the Miffy bloke) - but it must have sold out - just looked on Amazon and sellers want £25 for it! (here in case you're interested)

I think we got it somewhere arty with a nice bookshop - like the Tate.
