Hiya,
My cousin is 10 (11 in July), and I want to buy her a book.

Any ideas?

Thanks

What about a good cookbook, aimed at older children? Hit in my house.

Thanks for that GGG. Didn't really think of things like that

DD1 (10) has Cooking up a storm by Sam Stern. I thoroughly recommend it.

If you want a fiction book the new Michael Morpurgo - Born to Run - should go down well. I have also bought DD1 Tamburlaine's Elephants by Geraldine McCaughran and Ingo by Helen Dunmore.

My dd (10) also loves the Sam Stern books; fiction is much more personal I think, so it could be easy to get wrong. What sort of things does she like?

The Pippi Longstockings book, illustrated by Lauren Child, looks lovely, though I must admit I haven't read it. My dd is currently working her way through The Secret 7 books and also enjoyed "Ballet Shoes" recently.

DS1 requested the Sam Stern book for Christmas! It quite surprised me, as ds2 tends to be much keener in the kitchen.

Philip Pullman - His Dark Materials trilogy is gripping....and the film is out soon.
