Books as going home present after party

Hi. Does anyone know where I can buy cheap books for going home presents after my son's party. Thought books would be a better option rather than the usual party bags given out. Thanks.

try the bookpeople on line.. they have fantastic offers on book packs which would be perfect to divide up for party presents. good idea IMO

Second the book people!

LIZS · 29/09/2007 10:09

We did the Book People lucky dip - 10 for £7, but a slightly odd mix tbh. Wrapped in tissue paper as a lucky dip on the way out. Red House is related and similar.

book people are fab for cheap packs of ten

ChasingSquirrels · 29/09/2007 10:09

How much do you want to spend?
The Book People do packs of books - usually 10 for £10 which are great. I just got "100 facts about...dinosaurs, pirates, the weather, the ocean etc" ones for my ds1's 5th.
They did a treasure hunt at the end and the book was the prize, so no party bag at all.

ds also had these about 6mo ago which are great.

How old are they? There are 10 charlie and lola books for £9.99 here or 50 Thomas books for £30 here

hum, anyone spotting a theme....

FPP162 for free delivery - but order by 30 Sep - ie tomorrow (Sunday).
It says first order, so if you have used them before just set up a new account.

I hate party bags. My dd1 was given one full of cola flavour lollipops - even she thought they were disgusting.

I gave out tubs of play dough after one party, and individual playmobil characters after another party.

Colouring books are also a good idea.

mummyandbaby · 29/09/2007 10:21

Thanks for your replies. DS will be 4 and loves books. I will have a look at the Book People. Also like the idea of colouring books.

Ooooh, I'm liking the individual playmobil people idea. I might well pinch that for ds1's next party.

He went to a party where the party bag contained a bouncy flashing multicoloured ball. He loved it so much he took it to bed each night for weeks until the non-replaceable battery wore out.

I found books in Wilkinsons for 25p each that I gave out in party bags. Very simple books "Hare and the Tortoise" type stories but better than tat IMO

I was going to go to the Book People, but struck really lucky and happened to find a set of 25 brand new books in a charity shop at 5 books for £1!
