Can anyone recommend solo reading books for a 5 year old who is really into reading.
She’s top of purple band, just trying some gold band books at school.
She wants to read in bed at bedtime but I’ve not a clue what sort of books would be ok for her.
I’ve just been sending her to bed with our family bedtime stories, gruffalo, room on a broom, a squash and a squeeze etc etc, but she wants something new to read in bed.
Any ideas?

Magic Animal Friends Early Reader series

We started reading ‘chapter books’ together - Roald Dahl, Enid Blyton etc - and then DS would choose an easier book to read to himself afterwards. Eventually he chose to read another few pages of the chapter book by himself instead, and he went from there.

Local library should have a range for you both to have a look at.

DD loved the rainbow magic books. I can't say I loved them quite as much! We did at least get them from the library, so they're no longer cluttering the house!

Isadora Moon - half vampire, half fairy and a good intro to chapter books.

Just started the rainbow magic ones and she’s loving them.
Ordered the magic molly??? books so they should be here soon.

Anything by Cynthia Ryland (Mr. Putter and Tabby, Poppleton, etc.)

My DD enjoyed the secret mermaid books at that age.
Also Milly-Molly-Mandy and Polly and the Wolf.
She also read the Secret Seven
