For a while now I've been trying to track down a book from my childhood that i loved. It's a story about a brownie doing a good deed on Christmas Eve, something about helping an old woman in some woods I think...

Anyway I think it's potentially one of these two books;
Lucy's brownie Road - Jean Blathwayt
Lucy's Last brownie Challenge - Jean Blathwayt

Trouble is I can't actually find a synopsis for either of these two books anywhere. They are available to buy from World Books or ebay but I would prefer to know for sure before I buy.
Any ideas? And did anyone ever read these books?

Do you mean Brownies as Brownie Guides,
or brownies as in t type of fairy?

Definitely brownies as in girl guides.

I had that book, it was published by the Brownies.
I'll see if I can find out the name, it had a brown cover.

Or a short story in here, I think it might have been now I think about it:

Aaah no it was one of a series of books written about the Brownies, and it had a lead character. Googling it I narrowed it down pretty much to an author called Jean Blathwayte. Of course the books are out of print now hence you can’t read a synopsis, but I will have to take a chance and order a couple to see I think.

Another possibility might be one of the series Verily Anderson wrote in the 1960s/70s. The first one is Amanda and the Brownies, and there are about 5 altogether. However they are also out of print, so you will struggle to find a plot synopsis anywhere.
