We are going to the States next year and I’d like to get the DDs a factual book covering all of US history for children. Finding it surprisingly difficult to track one down in Amazon - the books either seem to be about specific bits of US history, or individual historical figures, or textbooks for older children. There is a Horrible Histories one, but I want something more straightforward which just goes through the history.
I basically want something like the Usborne type of book - nice illustrations, child-friendly language, engaging text. Any recommendations?
