Books to read aloud to 4 year old dd

Hiya was lpoking for recommendations of books to read dd (4) shes out grown picture books and likes something with a bit more to it

So if we like david walliams (books such as the bear who went boo) and roald dahl could you recommend some other authors we can try please?

We have dick king smith and jill murphy on the book shelf already

I was going to say my 4 year old loves The Worst Witch but can see you’ve got that covered. She also like a series called ‘Isadora Moon’ (about a vampire fairy!) and the Rainbow Magic ones (which are awful but she likes them!)

I started the enchanted wood series when DS was about 4.5 - I wasn't sure if he was a bit too young for it, but he absolutely loved them!

He's now just 5, and we've just finished listening to The Wizard of Oz, which he's also really enjoyed - that was on a podcast in chapter instalments and the lady reading it was brilliant with the different voices!

The Winnie the Pooh books are great fun to read aloud at that age.

We also read the Clarice Bean stories to my boy, who enjoyed them - he was already familiar with CB from the picture book.

The Anna Hibiscus books are also good - there are a couple of picture books (Anna Hibiscus' Song and Splash, Anna Hibiscus) as well as a series of longer chapter books.
