I have 2 nieces birthdays coming up and I really like the look of this book but want to make sure it's a suitable/good present.
One of my dn is going to be 3, so obviously won't be able to read it herself, but do you think it's engaging enough to read to her and she can look at the pictures?
My other dn is going to be 6. I don't live near her and her parents aren't that interested in books, so do you think she'd be able to read it on her own without help? I've been told she is excelling in school.

My 6 year old has this and reads a story from it most nights with very little help. There's the odd word she mispronounces. I totally love it! The pictures are amazing and it's just a beautiful book. I brought it about 6 times for Christmas and DD1s friends birthday party's. Got really lovely feedback from the parents. Book 2 is out now too!

Ds is a bright three year old but hasn't shown a huge amount of interest in it yet...

It was bought as a present for my DD when she was 7 or 8; she loved it and her sister, who is now 6, loves it as well. Probably not one for the three year old as the text is rather dense.

Mine are 4 and just 3 and love it.

My 7 year old has had it since she was 5 & loves it. My 3.5 year old wouldn't be remotely interested.

Thanks for all the replies! I think I'll just get it for the 6 year old!

My daughter loved it when she was 6. Great book.

Ada Twist or Rosie Revere for the 3 year old?
