We read The Phantom Tollbooth to my son last year and he really enjoyed it. I was surprised as i thought it was a little old fashioned!
One of the reviews on Amazon recommended King of the Copper Mountain by Paul Biegel and it’s out of print but I found a copy cheap enough and we’ve just finished it. A successful recommendation as he loved it. I enjoyed it too. I can see why it’s a classic children’s book in Holland.
He’s asked me to find something else by Paul Biegel and I’ve discovered that all the English translations are out of print and are often rather expensive.
So I wondered if anyone can make a positive recommendation of one they’ve read rather than just randomly taking the plunge? A long shot I know when it seems they’re not well known here.
Thank you!
