We've finished ALL the Famous Five. What next?

I am sad they are over as DS2 has loved them. He still likes me to read to him at bedtime, so what shall we choose?
DS likes a bit of peril, adventures, animals. We have read all Harry Potter (DS was fine with scary bits). Marcus Sedgwick's Raven Boy and Elf Girl series (brilliant). Mr Gum. Faraway tree etc.
So we would like a series with adventure, danger, animals and likeable characters.
We have tried Secret Seven but not keen.
Any suggestions appreciated.

Narnia?

My dd also enjoyed the adventure books by Enid blyton. River of adventure, valley of adventure etc. She also loved the Charlie bone books by Jenny nimmo (she said they were better than Harry potter!)

Little House on the Prairie?

Lauren St John or Helen Moss might fit the bill.

There's another series by Enid Blyton, all starting "The Mystery of" or "Mystery of" I remember liking that when I was reading her books.

There's also an Adventure series she wrote that might do.

The Secret Island by Enid Blyton is still one of my favourite books, got everything you're looking for I think it's part of a series too

Australia author called Emily Rodda. Start with the 3 book series about the land in the music box called Rondo. Sorry I can’t remember the title of the first book but they are great
