The Christmasaurus OR A Boy Called Christmas? Which would you recommend for a 6 year old?

I've read both with my DS, he says he preferred A Boy Called Christmas but both were good.

I am reading Christmasaurus to my 7 year old at the moment and we're really enjoying it. It's pretty long though - about 360 pages! I looked into Matt Haig and thought his books may be better suited for next year when my son is a little older.

We have just finished the first two Matt Haig books (co-reading with 8 yr old dd) and I’d say they were fine for that age but not much younger. A bit dark in places.
