New books for nearly 5 year old

DD is 5 in February and I was looking for recommendations for books for her for Christmas please. She loves The Cat in The Hat, Winnie the Witch, Julia Donaldson, Dinosaur that pooped..., Mr Men etc.

5 year olds l know love the Charlie and Lola books. They want to hear them again and again.

Hmm we tried one of them and both dp and myself didn't like reading them the way they were written. Thanks though.

The 'Madeline' series by Ludwig Bemelmans. Rhyming adventures of the bravest little girl in a chic Paris convent school for girls.

'Owl at Home', and 'Mouse Tales' by Arnold Lobel. The quirky misadventures of Owl, and a very charming mouse family.

'Catkin' by Antonia Barber. Also, Mousehole Cat'.

'Catwings' series by Ursula Le Guin.

'Jenny' stories - Jenny the cat stories by Esther Averill.
Titles include 'The School for Cats', 'Jenny's Moonlight Adventure', and many more.

Beatrix Potter classic stories.

We have a cupboard full of a variety of new books, but when my step son was around 5 his Grandad gifted him some very old Noddy books. I really didn't think they were going to go down well, but up until this day (step son now 7) they're the only books that make him fall asleep whilst reading them! haha He use to say "Can we have a Noddy book as they make me fall asleep". Worth a try?
