Audio downloads for a 5 year old

Hi there,

My 5 year old has taken a liking to listening to stories on her leap pad at bedtime (we read lots of actual books first). She has had the same set of stories for a year and has now asked for new ones from santa.

Does anyone have any good recommendations of stories which can be downloaded then put straight onto her pad? I don’t have a cd drive on my computer so audio cds are not much use. I could make something work if desperate though

My DD loved the How to Train Your Dragon books. She liked the movie first though; stories are quite a bit different. David Tennant is a wonderful reader who can do many different voices which I think helped my DD follow the story.

There are a few audio podcasts that mine listen too, about science, but they are pretty upbeat for bedtime.

we can download audio books from the library - though you only get to keep them for 3 weeks, so not really suitable for a christmas present maybe.

Agree that the how to train your dragon books are nothing like the movies and david tennent is a wonderful reader. We've also enjoyed the Roald Dahl collection with various readers. Everything else we;ve listened too is maybe a bit old, espcecially for on her own. Sorry not to be of more help. do check the library though.

Sparkle stories. A bit Waldorf but the kid loves them and they're very wholesome. Grin
