...what other books (of a similar level) did they enjoy?

DS is 7, and really enjoyed reading the WW series. It's the first lot of books that he has wanted to read to himself and really enjoyed.

He also reads Beast Quest (he mainly gets these as his reading books from school).

Any other suggestions? We've read the Tom Gates books together, and a bit of David Walliams, but these haven't particularly grabbed him...

Thanks!

Arabel & Mortimer (Joan Aitken)
Gobbolino the Witch’s Cat (Ursula Moray Williams)
Goth Girl (Chris Riddell)

Depends if you read together or he likes to do it all by himself. Together then I's say it's time for Harry Potter.
If not time yet, go for the classics Ronald Dahls. Can't beat them.

Thanks!

We've tried Gobolino ( I used to love it!) and he wasn't interested Shock

He's getting Harry Potter for Christmas from his Auntie I think. Hopefully he'll enjoy it.

He's generally a bit terrified of Roald Dahl. He likes the Twits and George's Marvellous Medicine but hasn't wanted to get stuck in to any of the others...
