So I loved this series of books, it would have been the 1970s when I read them. They were stories about girls in the Brownies, I think most of the titles referred to the Brownies in some way.

I particularly remember one about Christmas, one of the Brownies was out and about in Christmas Eve doing good deeds. When she got home mum had the house all decorated and everything was all cosy. It gave me a warm glow!

Were they by Pamela Sykes who also wrote Come `back Lucy?

Ooo, I loved these books too. I have The Brownies and the Fire upstairs in a box of old favourite books - and now I want to go and read it! I had a "thing" about fire stories when I was a kid! I remember the one about the hospital too, where a girl got knocked down by a car I think, and the Brownies all saved the day.

I wish I could persuade my little boy to read them - but I don't think that's very likely! Grin

Verily Anderson also wrote Brownie books. I had The Brownies and the Christening
