Ideas for 5th birthday books

My daughter started reception this September and is making good progress with learning to read. However, her love of books seems to be decreasing as she learns to read.
I'm looking to get her some shiny new books for her upcoming birthday to reignite her passion for them.
These will be books that I read to her. Although she occasionally likes chapter books (particularly The Faraway Tree) I think she still prefers pictures. She's very into scary things and loves Goosebumps on TV.
We've read all Julia Donaldson/Judith Kerr/Lyndley Dodd etc.
Any ideas much appreciated.

This is good! My DDs both loved it...it's got such amazing pictures and the story's brilliant. All the way home, the little girl meets different kids and they ask how she hurt her knee....and she conjures up all of these awful scenarios and makes up a dramatic tale...ghosts, witches...very, very atmospheric and a bit spine tingling too.

You could also try the a Ghost rescue series by Andrew Murray. Some great humour. More Than a picture book but still some lovely pictures. Perfect for new readers beginning to gain confidence. It's a tricky stage to find interesting reads for, I find! Or if she still likes rhyming books Peter Bently is brilliant. The next step up from Donaldson and Lynley Dodd.
