Scary books for 7 year old

Any ideas for books which are scary but still suitable for a 7 year old? We've read the first few Harry Potter books as well as most of Roald Dahl's children's books but I'm not sure what to try next? Thank you!

I wasn't sure if they would be more suited to older children?

Thank you for your suggestions. I think Tolkein may be a bit long and serious! I'm not really a fan of Terry Pratchett books either so maybe I'll wait until DD is old enough to discover them for herself rather than reading them with her.

You could try Dotty and the Calendar house Key. It's sold as 'secret garden meets Diagon Alley' so may be up your street! It's beautifully written.

We are doing the Dinosaur Cove series - DS1 is well into it.
