Hi, I am doing a project of reading with children, and wanted to know your thoughts on a child just reading books from one author or a series of books? I feel this would not develop their knowledge to other writing styles of different authors. What do you think of this?

Children like repetition and the familiar

Could be great quality and different books, wg roald Dahl

So long as they're reading and enjoying it I'd say that's the most important thing

I agree with Esmeralda.

When they're at the beginning of reading, up to early chapter books, the very familiarity of the characters and words can give them confidence to keep reading.

Of my dc one tends to read every book by an author and move on to another series/author. Another reads anything and everything.

Both are equally good at reading.
