9 year old loved Moondial by Helen Cresswell.

Can anyone recommend anything similar, please?

Thanks

Wolves of Willoughby Chase/Joan Aiken
Presumably she's read all the Narnia books?
The Green Knowe series is brilliant - Lucy M Boston - set in a real house with ghost children who come and play and help - and various other story lines.
