What's the right age for a personalised book?

I'm looking at a personalised Star Wars book for a present for an 8 year old boy here:

He loves Star Wars but do you think this is a good gift for this age or is he too old?

Thanks

I would think 8 was just about Ok but I know my two girls weren't too enamoured of the ones they got when they were a couple of years older.

Looking at the sample page it doesn't look (to me) like it would be a very good read. It's awfully stilted! I'd get him some real Star Wars stuff instead, there's supposed to be a huge amount of merch for the new movie.
