... will he like?

DS has just turned 7, and seems to have caught the reading bug. We still read longer chapter books together, but he enjoys reading shorter (but not too short), colour illustrated chapter books.

So far he's enjoyed the Claude series, Jolly Roger books, fortunately the milk and some abridged ladybird classics like Peter Pan etc.

Any suggestions for other books he might enjoy to read by himself?

Love the Frog and Toad books by Arnold Lobel. They were recommended on here once, I bought them online and have since bought them as presents. Really funny - my children think they are hilarious!

If he likes Claude you should head for the Dixie O'Day series. They are lovely!!

Shorter Roald Dahl's, eg "The Magic Finger".

Brilliant, thanks. Will have a look at those.
